Kinetix Foundations

Kinetix Foundations is targeted to beginners or intermediate users of motion. This class focuses on Kinetix 5500 drives, VPL motors, and CompactLogix processors. Topics covered include motion module configuration, axes configuration, testing, motion direct commands, basic tuning of axes and programming basic motion instructions such as MSO (servo on), MSF (servo off), MAJ (jog), MAH (home), MAM (move), MAS (stop), and others. Strong familiarity with Studio 5000, but not necessarily with motion, is assumed.

Hands-On Practice

Students will use a laptop to configure a Logix controller with Kinetix servos and motors. Approximately 1/2 of the class is lab.

Student Materials

All materials needed for this class will be supplied by Werner Electric for both in-person classes and Online Live classes. Training workstation: laptop, CompactLogix controller with Kinetix 5500 drive and motor. Student Manual.
