NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Seminar

Learn what causes arc flash, reasons for performing an arc flash analysis, NFPA 70E and OSHA regulations and standards, the steps and skills necessary to recognize electrical safety hazards, and information required for accurately performing an arc flash analysis. Terms such as limited and restricted approach boundary, as well as arc flash protection boundary, arc blast, incident energy and arcing fault current will be introduced. Various methods are used (manual and computer techniques) to calculate the ARC Flash hazards with heavy emphasis on hands-on examples.

First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

Length: 5 hours  |   Fee: $100   |   National Safety Council Certificate: Valid 2 years 


This course meets OSHA First Aid Standard 29 CFR 1910.151 and is split into two sessions. Session 1 - Standard First Aid and Choking (3 hours) covers a wide spectrum of scenarios including bleeding and wound care, burns, head and spine injuries, poisoning, bites and stings, shock, bone and muscle injuries, heat and cold emergencies, and sudden illness such as cardiac arrest, stroke, and seizures. We’ll explore how to best approach any emergency calmly and safely. Session 2 - CPR/AED and Choking (2 hours) provides certified training in how to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Also learn when and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). All participants are issued an instructional manual and First Aid Quick Guide. Participants who successfully complete the course receive a National Safety Council certificate of completion. Both First Aid and CPR/AED certification are valid for 2 years.

EtherNet/IP Introduction

The EtherNet/IP for Industrial Automation Intro class introduces the design and troubleshooting of EtherNet/IP network in a Logix based control system including the fundamentals of EtherNet, design of media and infrastructure, and initial configuration of Stratix switches. EtherNet/IP Foundations

The EtherNet/IP Foundations class covers the design and troubleshooting of an EtherNet/IP network in a Logix based industrial automation control system including; fundamentals of EtherNet, design of media and infrastructure, capacity calculations and configuration of Stratix industrial switches. The student will perform labs in Stratix configuration, network troubleshooting, and DHCP using a Stratix 5700 switch. We will discuss and use techniques for segmenting and troubleshooting an EtherNet/IP network. The Logix 5000 Advanced class is next in the series following Logix Foundations. It focuses on the premier integration of Rockwell devices such as Point I/O, PowerFlex drives, PanelView terminals, Stratix Ethernet/IP switches, and more. Individual lab stations provide hands-on lab time integrating these components with Studio 5000. The class will cover I/O configuration, AOPs and logic associated with the hardware. Advanced features of Studio 5000 and advanced instructions will also be incorporated. The Logix 5000 Foundations class, or previous Logix experience is a prerequisite to the Advanced class.

PLC Troubleshooting and Maintenance

Designed for students with little to no PLC experience, but some relay logic background, this class will teach the basics of connecting to, monitoring, editing and diagnosing MicroLogix, SLC 500, CompactLogix, and ControlLogix PLC’s. Virtualization for Industrial Workstations

This class focuses on the fundamentals of creating and using Virtual Machines in an industrial maintenance environment. We will not be covering virtualization of data centers, servers, etc. In order to continue running older software to support older equipment you need to maintain multiple computers with discontinued operating systems. Virtualizing these operating systems allows you to use modern laptops. We will introduce the concepts of virtualization, build a Windows XP machine, configure the VM’s networking and peripherals, install software in the virtual machine and get online with a controller. Some experience with Windows operating systems is expected.
