Installed Base Evaluations

Use Rockwell Automation's Expertise To Better Understand Your Installed Base and Help You Gain Control of Your Inventory

One of the first steps in reducing spare parts costs is through an evaluation of your company's installed base of electrical and electronic equipment and spare inventory. Our comprehensive evaluation considers how electrical and electronic equipment is used in various applications and environmental conditions, while considering maintenance history. We also look into how your company is managing its Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) inventory, as well as repair and maintenance procedures.

After our evaluation, your will receive a comprehensive analysis that identifies product locations and a list of critical, excess, and insufficient spares for this equipment. We also provide an overview of current MRO practices and make recommendations for improvement. This detailed information can help you make an informed decision about managing MRO inventory levels, procedures, and costs without sacrificing downtime.

Two Levels of Service

IBE-Basic
Includes an inventory of your installed electronic and mechanical equipment. Data is summarized in a final report itemizing all equipment.

IBE-Comprehensive
Compiles a comprehensive, sophisticated review and analysis of your installed base, including stores of Rockwell Automation equipment. To determine recommended inventory levels, Rockwell Automation engineers review:
  • Installed base of Rockwell Automation products
  • Spares inventory
  • Applications
  • Environmental conditions (grounding, wiring, possible corrosive conditions, temperature, etc.)

We consult with your electricians and maintenance staff to determine the nature of any problems experienced. Using our sophisticated IBE software, the final analysis provides:

  • Detailed inventory management reports by plant, location, department, line, panel, datalog numbers
  • Identification of critical spares, including excess and insufficient spares
  • Audit of inventory controls
  • Summary of your current cost of carrying inventory
